About Me

Hi, friends! My name is Casey McGrath, and I am a published writer and professional musician with a Certificate in Editing from the University of Chicago,

a Doctorate of Musical Arts in violin performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Music in violin performance from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, and a Bachelor of Music in violin performance with a minor in creative writing from Butler University.

I spent over ten years as an adjunct college professor, and one of the most gratifying aspects of teaching lecture courses was the opportunity to help others best articulate themselves on paper.

I'm a violinist by day, so when I'm not performing, I'm writing. I am the author of a research-based book for musicians (Rowman & Littlefield, 2016; Bloomsbury Publishing, set for release in 2026), two poetry chapbooks (Two Houses and Paper and Ash), and have written articles for both Blue Skies and Parachutist magazines. My short stories and poetry have been been featured in several literary journals, including Manuscripts andWindows Fine Arts Magazine, and I am currently working on my first memoir, A Technicolor Ordinary.
